I've tried everything from software to the "Read & Run" instructions and still haven't been able to rid myself of problems. Actually I have made things worse, because I can't download or run anything now!!! I couldn't obtain a report from neither Bitdefender nor Panda. Tried to a few times just to confirm and still nothing. Could someone help with both problems?

In HJT Choose Open the Misc Tools Section choose Process Manager, Highlight:
    Choose Kill Process

Now scan and have HJT Fix the following:
    Download
    - Pocket Killbox
    - ExplorerXP

    Now run Pocket Killbox:

Choose Tools -> Delete Temp Files and click the RED X.

Run Killbox.exe. Paste the below filenames into KILL BOX one at a time. Check mark the box that says "Delete on Reboot" and checkmark the box "Unregister DLL" (If available) Click the RED X and it will ask you to confirm the file for deletion…say YES and when the next box opens prompting you to reboot now...click NO...and proceed with the next file. Once you get to the last one click YES and it will reboot. Note many of the file list below may not exist but we need to check for them anyway.
If Killbox does not reboot or you get a Pending Operations type error message just reboot your PC yourself.

    Now boot into SAFE MODE

Open ExplorerXP navigate to and DELETE the following: (Some of these may have already been deleted by Pocket Killbox)
Now run CCleaner. If you have Windows XP delete the contents of C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch.

Then, as an added precaution, Go to Start -> Run and type: cleanmgr and then click OK. Make sure the boxes for these are checked:
    Temporary Files
    Temporary Internet Files
    Recycle Bin

    And Click OK.

    REBOOT to Normal Mode.

    Follow the directions for Qoologic/Winsync/Kavsvc.

Download DelDomains and unzip it to your desktop.

Find the files from deldomains.zip on your Desktop and RightClick on the deldomains.inf file and select Install.

Afterwards run Spybot and make sure you re-Immunize immediately. Then run a full system scan. If you get any reported problems, attach the log from Spybot.

Attach the 3 logs from the Qooliogic procedure and a fresh HijackThis log.

Sorry for the delayed reply, I was out of town. Thank you for replying. I followed the first steps, but am unable to download, run, or install anything as of approx. two weeks ago. It prompts me to download or run, the file download security center comes up and I click run, then it goes through the file transfer process, but won't save onto the hard disk...

Download the tools using another computer, then install them on the one that is infected.

thanks again for the help, It seems like my computer is running clean now. The only problem now is the downloading issue. Do you know how to resolve that?

Try another browser, like say Firefox. Do you have the same problem? I want to make sure it is a problem with IE and not the OS.

I can't download Firefox or anything else for that matter. There is a problem with my OS firewall and the Security Center service not starting. Also, there is an unidentified problem with the Firewall where I can't change the settings. It won't allow me to run or complete a download at all. It just kills the process. I tried repairing it, but it won't allow me to download the updates either. Nothing.

Uninstall your firewall, and enable the Windows Firewall.

Hey, so I had to uninstall the SP2, then re-install XP from the disk to replace some of the deleted files, and it seems like everything is working well now. I can download too! So thanks for the help!! One more question, should I re-install the SP2 or leave it the way it is now?

Yes, reinstall SP2 and update the OS. Otherwise your computer is vulnerable to infection.
