    Hi,

A few weeks ago, I changed my settings in Display from 800 x 600 pixels to 1024x768 pixels. Changing this setting changed the look of many things, some good, some bad. I went through every setting until I got the look I wanted but there are 2 settings that I can't find. These settings are needed to increase the size of the fonts. When I open a folder, the Title Bar, icons, the size of lettering under icons, scroll bar, caption buttons, etc, are a good size, but the font size of the folders/files within a folder is very small, about 8 pitch. Also, when I open my email account, the font size of everything (folder names/options/address book/email text) is about an 8 pitch also. This happened only after I changed the resoltuion. I tried to enlarge the lettering in my email account by going to View > Text Size > Larger/Largest, but it doesn't change anything.

Is there another setting can be changed to enlarge the size of the font for these 2 things?

You can try to change in your display properties. Go to your display properties, then appearance, then click advanced button. Go through the different options in the item drop down box and change the font sizes to a size that suits you.

Hi eyeblazin, thanks for replying. I've already gone through all of the settings in Display but it hasn't changed the size of the font of the folders/files within a folder or the size of the font of my email.

Also, I don't know why View > Text Size doesn't change the size of the font on pages. It used to. That would fix the problem that I'm having with the font size in my email account, although I'd have to put it back to medium for other pages. My email account doesn't have an option to change the font size of the account, only for the size of the font for composing.

Are you using Outlook for your e-mail? If so you can change the font of your messages in Outlook Tools. Open Outlook got to Tools then Mail Formatting then Stationary and Fonts click on Fonts Button. You should be ablt to change the fonts here. Hope this helps

    Go to:

    Start
    Control Panel
    Display Properties
    select the Appearance tab
select the Advanced button (lower left side)
Click on any section in the picture of the Inactive Window/Active Window and Message Box showen for each window display section you want to change font size and/or display size
example: click the message box title bar in the picture and you will then see the Item box below will display the name and size of that window section and the Font and size of that window view.
Make the changes you want to all the sections areas.
    When you are done:
    select Apply
    and then click OK.

I've found that changing the screen resolution along with the fonts, depending on the site, changed where everything was. For example, a font would run over a graphic or other distortions. I've since bought a larger new LCD screen as my old CRT just couldn't cut it for my bad eyes at a higher resolution than 800x600. It was just too small.

    Hi eyeblazin and jewlzs,

    Thanks for your input.

I'd already changed all the settings in Display and I was able to get most things at a medium setting. I continued to have the files/folders names in a very small pitch and my email, Comcast, had the same problem. I contacted Comcast and they gave me a link and told me to try the simple version. When I did, the font size of my emails enlarged from around 7 to around 12, which was great but, for some reason, it only did so for some emails, not all. I was also told to install Adobe FlashPlayer but I installed it several months ago. I uninstalled it, went to the Adobe FlashPlayer site and it was again installed, but it didn't fix the size of my fonts. I finally decided to switch to IE 7 and it resolved all my problems with my email. How and why, I don't know, but it did.

I was able to increase the size of my fonts in my folders/files by changing the DPI Setting from 96 dpi to 120 dpi in Display > Settings > General.

I also have an LCD monitor so I hope this helps you too augiedoggie.
