FORBIDEN......Access control list

Trying to sort out my Grandaughter's PC. Running XP Home SP2.
Had lots of Malware etc. which I have mostly sorted out I think, but now left with unable to use IE6, any address typed in results in:- "Forbiden, You were denied access because: Access denied by Access Control List".
Where is this list and how do I alter it? or get rid of it.
Firefox works OK.

Also if the above do not help, do you use a proxy server to connect to the internet. If yes, make sure it is correct. If no, make sure that the PC is not configured to use one.

In reality, this is more than likely not a malware problem but rather a misconfiguration of a system setting. However, it is possible that something you did while removing malware has cause this problem.

Thank you very much for your help.
It turned out to be the proxy server setting, which was on and I don't use one.
Sorry I posted on the wrong forum, but I was quite certain it was caused by Malware.
