I have a HP Pavilion dv7, the latest Radeon driver from HP is version 8.
The laptop is plenty powerful to run later games, but needs a driver update for the video to play them properly. Version 13 is current.
i.e. Firefall tech support says to install the latest ATI drivers to solve some issues. New drivers are not available from HP and the stock ATI drivers refuse to install on the HP hardware.
Is there a way to force install?
If I cannot update the drivers I will toss the laptop and buy new, but I would like to give newer drivers a try on the chance they would work.

If it has hybrid graphics, do not install the reference driver.

http://leshcatlabs.net/ If you have an AMD/Intel combo.

    Thanks much.
Windows fought like crazy to keep their non-working driver or the old driver when I tried to just update the driver.
I had to uninstall the intel and AMD video with device manager, reboot and install the suggested driver.
