Suffering from bi polar disorder? Can he be condemned for having a psychiatric illness? Perhaps more protection is needed to stop these episodes from happening, a screen to keep the driver and the individual wanting to use them as a punch bag apart. Especially as the kids were on their way to a school for kids with problems (I hate the term 'special school'.) God forbid, but imagine if that had happened while the bus was in motion.

at least a taser or something non lethal. probably wouldnt have helped much in this situation, but im sure there would be a time when it would save someone.

 

I totally agree, non-lethal, especially with school kids is the only way to go, but say your students walked onto the bus past something like this...

Every time they got on or off the bus, even if it had rubber bullets, I doubt most of the problem causers would guess the could make it to the front of the bus before you were armed. I say that the sound of a shotgun pump sliding shut is an intimidating enough sound to dispel a few high school students. We'll never know though, it would never happen.. and for good reason.

shot gun would take too long in a situation on a bus. compact pistol would be the best bet if a person wanted to take it to that level. even with rubber bullets, theyre now dealing with guns. and if some crazy person had a gun too, id hope to hell the buss driver didnt have rubber to pewpew at someone with .45 hollow tips.

 

Actually, we need armed police officers on every bus, so anyone that approaches the driver is facing a trained police officer.

And long guns are no good in confined spaces. Ask a soldier.

 

I understand that "long guns" are not ideal on a school bus, even without bothering a soldier. My theory originally was that school students boarding a bus driven by an armed driver would be more likely to behave than those who did not have an armed driver. If you wanted to make sure they didn't misbehave, I'd put them in shackles and a gag before I suggested actually trying to find the best tactical means to neutralize the student. LOL

Wait, maybe you could just put them in roller coaster type restraints that worked like bark collars for dogs...

 

Whoa, people, we are talking mentally unstable kids, here. Bi polar disorder is a psychiatric illness in which sufferers are easily agitated and can become violent. When these individuals embark, all they have is their fists. The last thing you need on board are small arms. Surely if anybody is at fault here, it's the authorities who haven't given adequate protection to the drivers who transport these kids. They know the risks. Shooters? Madness.

Dude could use some 'chucks'. I can use them pretty well for self defense, but i rarely fight multiple bad guys, and I prefer a gun. :-D
