    Hi Guys,

Sorry to be a pain, I have just bought a Western Digital My Book Studio Edition 500gb external hard drive, it has arrived and on the box it says "creative power for mac" well as it happens I dont have a mac and im currently running vista. I could just box it up and send it back and ask for a windows orientated drive, but I read on one of the forums that all I have to do is format the drive to fat 32 and as if by magic it will work with vista.

I have powered up the drive and tried both the firewire and the usb connection, but vista isnt picking anything up. Please can someone help me get my drive working.

    Many thanks in advance

    Pearce :)

you could format it to FAT32, but you are limited to only 4GB. Try the free trial of Macdrive, and see if that will hel fix your issue.

Connect the drive up, then go into disc management within control panel and it should appear.
Then right click and format as FAT-32.

As mentioned by Pwc, you will only be able to have single files up to 4gb on there.
