Forms...

Hi everyone...got a quick question; I am currently using formMail.pl for processing my web site forms. I am not familiar with any other scripts for forms can anyone tell me of others?

There are TONS of email scripts out there. ASP, PHP, ASP.NET , CGI, PL scripts galore.

using other scripts depends on the server operating system that you're hosted under i.e. Linux, Windows and for windows you could have some COM components that let you have other email features that you can tap into.

It sounds like you're wanting to expand on your email functionality?

 

Well, I am designing a web site for a customer whose server I am unfamiliar with...anyway; I just wanted to get familiar with other scripts so that just in case his server does not support formMail.pl I have knowledge of other scripts that can do the same thing.
This is the form...not that it matters, it only matters what their server is capable of and that has yet to be learned...but just as a reference...it is a very basic form.
Eventually I do want to learn more about forms and learn some advanced techniques...for instance on the form I have a drop down that specifies where the results should be directed...I know that if I name that field recipient that in the .pl script I can specify to what email address it allows it to go to...but that's as far as my knowledge goes on that one. I have a lot to learn.

 

What languages does the server support? We can't give you a recommendation till we know that!
