    Hi!

I received several "forwarded" e-mails, however, my Outlook Express 6 won't open them. An error message displays; "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options Control Panel".

I have pretty basic computer knowledge, and don't understand what or how to do this. If it helps to mention, the person who forwarded the e-mail to me has Windows 98SE. As for the original sender, I don't know what system they have. I'm running XP, SP2. Thanks for any suggestions as to how I can solve this.
    :D

(I apologize for all the questions that I've been posting lately, but you guys have taught me a lot. Thank you.)
    ;)

What is the file extension of the attachment? eg.name.zip song.mp3 etc.

    Hi!

I don't see a file extension on it. I'll try to paste a picture of the attachment.
    Thanks!

Save the file to disk and then look for the extension.

I didn't see an extension such as; .jpg
    but I did see;

    "IncrediMail Internet Mail Message"
    I have IncrediMail installed.

Have you tried opening it with incredimail? Also find out the file extension. You may have to enable it in control panel>folder option>view>uncheck hide extensions.

    Thanks!
    The extension is .eml

I clicked on the saved document on disk. IncrediMail opens. I click to open the attachement in that e-mail. It askes what program I want to open it with, I chose IncrediMail. A blank screen opens up, as if I was gonna forward it to someone else, the message body is blank. I try to open that attachment. Nothing.

It looks like several people have forwarded this message, perhaps something got lost in all the forwarding?

    Thanks!

    Thanks for your patience.

    No, I don't notice any.

I opened the previous forwarded recipients e-mail, by saving to disk, and the forwarded attachment no longer shows an extension.

    It just says, "Fw_Priceless...1"
    File
    6 KB

View the headers of the email itself; the complete file name will be displayed down near the bottom of the header.

Thanks so much for your reply!
Unfortunatly, I gave up on the e-mail and deleted it already. If I receive another like that, I'll have to post back. Sorry, but thanks so much for the information!
    ;)
