Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    After clicking Fix exit HJT.

You also should run the McAfee Removal Tool to be rid of remnants from that, I still see a leftover service running in your logs.

Please download the McAfee Consumer Product Removal Tool

Run this > Reboot your machine > and Run it again to get rid of remnants of McAfee.

This PC is only running XP SP1 and needs to be updated as has many security issues. One is that it will be very susceptible to Conficker infections. The small amount of RAM is going to be an issue especially since the processor speed is 233 Mhz. This PC cannot support Windows XP.

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.

Let us know of any problems you may have encountered with the above instructions and also let me know how things are running now.

I'll get back to you as soon as I receive the laptop back from the owner.

    Thanks.

P.S. The motherboard's max memory is 128mb. Which operating system do you recommend for this setup, Win2000?
