FPS problems in CS:Source after upgrade. Help Plz!!!

Ok, new to the forums, hopefully you guys can help. Let me start with my comp stats before problem.

2.53 Ghz P4 Socket 478
1gb Corsair XMS 2700
GeForce 6800GT AGP
Gigabyte 8IPE1000-G

Thats all that should matter. The game ran flawlessly with this hardware in it. A little lower FPS's than I expected to get, but ran fine nonetheless. Yesterday I replaced the processor with a 3.4 ghz P4 socket 478, and replaced the Ram with 2 gig sticks of Corsair XMS 3200 ram. Both the processor and the ram are supported under this motherboard, so I doubt they would be the problem. Also, swapped out the ram with the old stuff just to eliminate that as well. I bought a Thermaltake Big Typhoon CPU cooler for the cpu just because I heard they run very hot. Now the problem. The game runs FINE when I first boot it up, after about 5 or so minutes of playing, the FPS will drop from about 100 to around 10-20 for about 30 seconds or so, then jump RIGHT back up to normal. It does this the ENTIRE time I am playing the game now. I also updated the mobo bios after this problem just to be sure that wasnt it and it didnt fix it. The CPU temp stays around 46-50 degrees celcius at all times. If you have ANY idea what this problem is, PLEASE help. Thanks guys

 

try running the Video test in cs, then check all the options settings to make sure that they are what you want them to be. Thats all i can think of for now...

 

Well seeing as that there have been quite a few of the issues with FPS in CS:S around this board, the leading cause of this have none the less been either a Virus, spyware, Adware related issue. Please run these few scanners to make sure.

If you don't find anything, try taking a shot at 3D Mark 06 and see how you score just to make sure it's not the hardware.
