    *I have Windows XP*

I'm on a different computer because my infected computer won't even let me try to load webpages because it redirects me to a completely different website!

I originally had SpyBot Search and Destroy but it mysteriously dissapeared, and when i try to re-install it (when i manage to get to a website i can download it from) it runs into a problem:

    Error sending request

A connection with server could not be established

There are too many different problems to than i can list ( random messages that shut down computer, bogus antivirus windows, bogus Spybot S&D website that says i have to pay for it, ect. )

I have caught something, however, and that is an ending program window that pops up when i turn my computer off - it says ( jusched.exe ) -- anybody know what that is? -- and i've never seen that before my computer got infected so there must be a connection

Now the infected computer has frozen completely and the only alternative is to hold the power button down to shut it off. This virus is REALLY TICKING ME OFF because its slow as crap and i can't do anything! I can't even play Supreme Commander because its so FRIGGIN SLOW! and turns off and freezes randomly!

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

    Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.

i was looking up suspicious files that were running on my computer and found explore.exe ---- and found it is the graybird.g virus!!!

right now i am running a scan with an unupdated kaspersky ( b/c the virus doesnt permit online updates) and i'm hoping this will weed it out and kill it.

if you have any suggestions on getting rid of this virus besides things that require online usage (b/c the hijacks don't allow me to get anywhere i want on the internet so the internet is virtually useless on that computer) you can go for it but i am confident that Kaspersky 2009 will compromise it.

    thank you for your help!

After running a full computer scan with an the unupdated version of Kaspersky, there were no viruses found! only i knew that wasn't right at all b/c the same effects were showing as in the graybird.g virus!

so i look back in the task manager and can't find explore.exe anymore, but found another seemingly ligit explorer.exe. so i google it, just like the other one, and see it also can be a virus!

so i try to end it right? and the same thing happens, the screen goes blank and disables me from messing with it.

how the heck did it change its name? i don't know, and why couldn't one of the most advanced anti-virus programs kill it?

I NEED HELP! ---- it is sure that it is graybird.g

Sorry did not feel like following instructions.

There was more wrong with the computer than just the virus - it was clumped up with so many programs you wouldn't believe

but - - - - problem solved! Just rebooted the computer and started new. Its great!
