Fred is sick.

Fred (my 14 or so year old labrachow mutt) was bleeding this morning, aparently from his well, male parts. I took him to the vet, they checked him out, and kept him for further tests. Will hopefully know more in a few hours.

Think good thoughts for Freddy.

Dogs are more resillient than we think. My father in law has had working dogs all his adult life. They get all sorts of ailments, but all his dogs have lived long, natural lives. Sending best wishes to Freddie. Hope he isn't feeling too ruff..

Fred is back, seems ok. Vet said he did not find anything major, could be an infection. Got him on antibiotics.

Thanks! Always kinda scary when they get this old and you have to take them to the vet for anything non-routine. :cool

Let's hope that is what it is. ( Though if the vet did not give you a real diagnosis....get a new vet ---> males rarely get bladder infections.)

If the bleeding starts again, I will take him back. Stopped for now at least. He seems to be in no pain and is happy, so all is well for now.

Pets are family members. That's just the way things are.
