Are there any GOOD registry scanners/cleaners that are free?

Be careful with registry cleaners. Many are available and they can do more harm than good. One that is often given favorable mention in this forum and that I use is CCleaner. You can get the Slim version at http://majorgeeks.com/CCleaner_Slim_d4191.html. This is the same as the regular version minus a Yahoo! toolbar. But, if you happen to get the regular version, you are given the option to decline the Yahoo! toolbar during installation.

Another vote for CCleaner Slim. :)
I also use Erunt 1.1j, at http://www.majorgeeks.com/Erunt_d1267.html to backup my Registry daily, before my Net session. It is very quick and is a good safeguard in case anything goes wrong, for whatever reason.
    I rarely use NTREGOPT.

NB: An Excellent rating, out of 5.00
It also works well for Windows 7. I use it for Windows 7 Ultimate.

Right click on the .exe program to "Run as Administrator", or it may not work.
