You told us nothing about your computer.
    How old is it?
    How much RAM is installed?
How large is the hard drive?
How much free space is on the hard drive?
Is the hard drive an old spinning type or an ssd?
All these things can have a big impact on a PCs performance. If you get those things working properly, you have no need of installing still more software.

If this is a new computer with Win 11 pre-installed, and you aren't satisfied with its performance then take it up with the retailer. OTOH if it's an upgrade from Win 7,8, or 10 then tell us the make and model and how much RAM it has. Basically though, you cannot improve performance by adding new software.

Post the model of Asus, because just the brand isn't enough information.
Is the 256GB the boot drive? You said you added rather than replaced so I assume you have both in the computer.
If the 256GB is the boot drive, what % of that drive is free?

You still have not answered plodr's key question about how much of the boot drive space is free. 256Gb is a small drive and Windows does need a bit of elbow room, particularly when starting up. Also how was speed when you had Win 10? If there is a noticeable difference with W11 you will need to take a good look at the startup programs and Task Manager to get a better understanding of what is hogging your system. However if it was also slow with 10 then it I would say your laptop isn't really up to the job.
