free up memory

Trying to install windows 7 on computer but keeps telling me that program requires 512MB memory,anyway I can free up enough memory to install,also would wiping hard drive clean free up enough to load new system?...thanks trash20001

 

Right click on My Computer and click on Properties.
Should tell how much RAM you have.

you don't have to purchase there, but it will tell you exactly what you need so you can go looking.

although i don't plan on getting 7, i did upgrade my RAM from 512mb to 4gb (4 - 1gb memory sticks) for about $100. that was the maximum recommended for my system and you don't have to go that high. you DO need the minimum 512mb RAM for Windows7...a little higher would probably be better.
