Screw Microsoft. I just spent over an hour fighting Powerpoint in Windows, and was able to figure out my problem in 30 seconds on my Mac. I hope they all get their crotches infested with the fleas of a thousand camels.

You'd think they could come up with some conformity between OSes. I feel sorry for the poor shmucks stuck with Office 2003. Office 2004 is so much better.

Not really a big deal as it turns out.

From the above link MS states: "*This offer is available in the U.S. only while supplies last. USB drive is 16MB in size. Limit one per customer. Please allow 6-8 weeks for delivery."

Leave it to MS to get us all hyped up.

I don't expect to get mine and at this point I don't really want it.

 

i never got mine nor a e-mail i got my free west coast Choppers zippo in like 2 weeks of odering it from camel and did not have to pay a cent.

 

Sorry to say went there today and the offer has expired, free lunch just went bye bye

 

I just got an email from Micro$$oft saying that the offer is only available to US residents while stocks last, and that if I wanted the information, to download it.

Damn!

 

Yeah, I ordered the same time as all you guys (there were two threads, one here and one in the lounge), and I just got the email now!

They even sent me a link so I could download the information.

I don't want the crappy information, I want my USB drive.

 

PRIOR POST OF INSOMNIACS

Some of you may not believe this story, I couldn't at first, anyway,
I was walking out of my place yesterday afternoon, when this deranged insect flying at warp speed smashed into the side of my face.
It actually hurt it was going so fast.
Then, it quickly scurried into my right ear, and was buzzing around trying to get out.
All this took only a few seconds, but I knew what it was.
I spent all last night unsuccessfully trying to sleep, with my whole head buzzing.
The sensation was extremely uncomfortable, so I went to the local medical centre.
The doctor had a look, flushed it out (it was a thing like a small beetle), and said it was a common occurrence.
You'll all be happy to hear I'm now insect free, at least in my ear.


Hey Insomniac, why are you complaining about my beloved MS , they sent you the USB yesterday, and you had the thing flushed out of your ear Sheesh. Some people are never happy………chuckle

 

Yeah I got an e-mail like that, microsoft bait & switch....

 

I just sent this email to MS: (I do not expect a reply)

Dear Microsoft:
On March 2, 2006 I applied for the free USB drive you offered.
At the time I applied for it, I was told it would take between 6-8 weeks
for delivery.

Today, almost 12 weeks since I've applied, you sent me this email
letting me know that the offer was only good for US residents.
I was also informed that the offer was only good for as long as supplies lasted.
Why does it take you 12 weeks to discover that something I should have received 4 weeks ago
is no longer available?

Since in this case, I, along with thousands of others, suggest that you either find some more of those USB drives, or find something else meaningful to pass on to all of us who have waited patiently only to be disappointed by this email.

I think, as compensation, we should all be given a copy of Vista, and an XBox 360.

Yea sounds good free x-box 360's but I still haven't got my usb drive and it's been forever who knows I dont think it will ever come.

Several folks I work with got them too. You know how it is with free things, people start acting like hungry wolves and soon the supply is deleted.

Or yeah, it could be another MS conspiracy, I mean MS and Google are gonna own Earth in another couple months anyway...

The drive is sitting in one of the drawers in my desk at work, right next to the paperclip choo-choo train.
