IMHO, I do not use ram optimizers or run programs that will "free up ram". Why? They don't work. But, once again, this is MHO.

On a side, I have used them, but, never saw any added benefit.

    Baz:
I cannot access the program, even to choose un-install...it will not open!
This is the message I get:
    Error:
Freeramxp has been configured so that most only one copy of freeram xp can be open at any given time.
Freeram has detected another instance of freeram xp is already running and the newly opened instance of freeram xp will now close
To change this setting please go to the settings window in the instance of freeram xp currently running

Now, I cannot get to setting as I cannot open it at all.
It is not in the programs(control panel)...I hope you can help me

Do you have any icon in your systray that allows you to right click and configure it?

As you say, you are entitled to your opinion, as much as I am entitled to mine.

From my experience, over many months, FreeRam XP Pro v1.52 works for me.
I won't run my PC, even with 2 gigs of Ram, without it.

It always free up more RAM than MS XP Pro does, and it does it quicker, IMHO
I have never had any of the effects quoted in the Source.

Sorry I couldn't reply earlier as I have had trouble with MG (and ipconfig /flushdns) as posted in other threads. It appears be OK now.

The error message means that you are trying to load a second instance of FreeRam XP Pro (as you have probably figured out already).

FreeRam does not appear in the Add/Delete section of the Control Panel because it apparently is a no-install program.

In other words, it does not make any entries into the Regsistry, so it does not appear in the Add/Delete listing.

If FreeRam XP pro is running, it should have an icon ishown in the Notification area, down by the clock time, bottom right of your screen. If it appears there, simply right click it and click on Exit.

    It should then disappear.

Next step is to right click on the Folder where you have installed FreeRam XP Pro.
Probably C:\Program Files\FreeRAM Xp Pro (or similar), select Delete and left click on it.

The Folder will have been deleted. Run CCleaner using the Cleaner and Issues tab.

As I replied earlier, I like FreeRam XP Pro and it is one of my Favourite programs on my PC. Yours is the choice to use it or not, of course.

I like it, I use it (in fact it is one of my Startup programs) and it has never conflicted with anything I do. Sermon over. Bazza
