Is there a freeware app that can sync two folders like ViceVersa (I use an older freeware version of the app) but can also move the files into the right folder in the target folder base on the location of the file in the source folder?

eg. a lot of pictures are located in a temp folder in the target directory and instead of manually having to move each file to the right folder in the same directory the app moves them base on where they are located in the source directories' folder\sub-folder all while preserving the date created\modified and if there are any capitals in the file name,etc.... Has to support win xp pro sp2

I have searched through www.webattack.com/ but no app that I can use to do that. :(

    Thanks.

Take a look at SyncBackFree which I've used for years and found to be reliable. However your requirement to move files about which are already in the target may be a step too far for it. Wouldn't it be simpler to sync again and then remove the duplicates in the temp folder?

The current version of SyncBackFree is not stated to be XP compatible, though I suspect that in fact it is. But just in case I have the setup zip from May 2010 which you are welcome to if you want it.

It's small, just 1,836kb. I'm pretty sure the current version does run on XP too but it's understandable that authors no longer state it.

I installed freefilesync last night but it had an error when it got to the end of the installation as it couldn't find two entry points in the shell32.dll file.Must be because it requires presumably xp sp3 which is weird as the installer doesn't mention it requires xp sp3...?

Even after the installation I get the same error message with the missing entry points in shell32.dll and as a result the app doesn't run then either so I uninstalled it.

I installed the latest version of SyncBackFree in my XP SP3 virtual machine. Apart from a mild notice at setup that XP is not officially supported it installed without issues and runs normally, as I suspected it would.
