    Hi all,

I have a problem with my laptop that has been occuring for pretty much the whole time i have had it.

Whats happening is that 'most' times after waking it from sleep, i get my logon screen come up but cannot do anything with it. I cant move the cursor or press enter and so i have to do 1 of 2 things. The first is to press the power button again and trying again, but that can take upto 10 times to work. Or i have to remove the battery and reinsert it and start my system from scratch and select 'resume windows'. Yet 'sometimes' it works first time.

I have looked and searched for an answer but not really found anything thats helps. I was told that there is a little bug in windows that does that. But i thought that if that was true then everyone would have the same problem if it were a general bug. I know when you reboot your system it does it in a particular order, but sleep isn't an actually proper reboot. But could this be a reason? I am running windows 7 home premium 64bit system if that helps. If any other info is required i shall be happy to supply.

Any ideas on this would be great. Maybe its something i have just had to live with and will have to continue to do so, and if that is the case then fair enough.

    Thank you my guardian angels.

    Andy

Not sure if this is your issue, but I had a friend with the same problem and after checking event viewer i was able to determine that her USB drives were not "going to sleep" correctly. I disabled USB in the Bios and her problem was solved. I tried messing around with different drivers after that so she could actually use her USB devices with no luck though. I would check event viewer first.

    Hi there,

I feel quite confident that all the drivers are ok and up to date. However there was one major thing i missed out in my post.

After finally getting back into my computer, i get a Blue screen error message which indeed does show up in the event viewer. I did google any info i could find but it was just a liitle report with not much info. I never see a blue screen though cause my computers asleep. This has always been a problem since vista and throught to windows 7. Even after clean installations. Maybe i'm just being picky and there really is a bug.

    Thanks

    Andy
