    Well, I wish.......

Things are a little hectic at work right now. Some big brown stuff has hit the fan and it's flying in every direction possible (but not at me, thankfully). However, it does mean I am now wearing 3 peoples hats, and working 12 hour days, and possibly some weekends to create capacity to fill in the gaps. Just wanted to let you guys know if I'm not about much at times, that is why :)

Hope to kick back Sunday and get a little fishing in (without my computer, TimW :p )

Have yourselves a fun little weekend :D

Lol, I live in Australia so i'm over 15 hours in front of yáll. :) Which means!

    Yep, it's the weekend. Yay!

I have a headache, and a friend is coming over for the whole weekend (he's a bit of a pain sometimes, but i don't mind). Have a fun fishing trip mate ;)

This weekend, what Friday means to me is that even though I've already worked 28 hours since Wednesday, I've still got 19 to go before the end of Saturday.

Meh, at least I'm working again. Collecting unemployment all summer sucked.

    Finally Friday! :D

Wonderful! This week felt long, and this Friday seemed endless, even though I managed to sneak out of there quite early... :D

One good thing about cancer; I used to fill in whenever things got thin, but am not up to doing that anymore, and they don't expect me to. My weekend is MINE. ;)

    Hang in there Lev.

No sleeping for me, it is a preview event for the next chapter of Guildwars, you get to try the next game for the weekend for free... So I'll stay awake, somehow... :D

Will see how bad the end of the month. Started out scanning to see if I was a candidate for lung reduction (emphysema) and found a couple nodules in the process. I feel guilty, keep being saved in the neck of time but for what I don't know. Feel pretty useless.

Ok, wtf... Why is it the good people in this world ALWAYS get struck down by the bad things, yet the bad people go along and get struck down with SFA!!!!!

I don't know how good of a person I have been. All you can do is treat people how you want to be treated and wait and see if this is a test.

Nick of time is better than too late, which is my case. Advanced prostate cancer, metasticised and spread through spine and most of the bones from neck to legs. No cure at this stage, just holding actions for a while, short of a miracle. We can swap prayers. :)

(shrug) Good/bad doesn't seem to have much to do with it Luthius. I've met a lot of good folks dealing with it, or with other issues just as serious. Nobody ever said life would be fair. ;)

    My friday today went horrible:
I was knocked down by a fat freshman who pushed me today down the hall
As I was waiting in line getting my lunch at school, someone slipped and dropped nacho cheese on one side of my bag.
I left my homework in my locker, and my key at home.
I was nearly suspended for saying something funny about a teacher.
I got in trouble for optimizing my schools pc settings.
I hafd to walk home 10 blocks cause there was no bus in site, and when I got to my house the bus was right behind me.

Hope your day went better. But overall, it was fun.

Glad your hanging in their GT :)

Medical science is moving along, not as quick as many would like to see it in releation to cancer treatments but one stage 1 nanotechnology treatment is looking promising at present as it uses the dye you find in your blue jeans and ball point pens, the basics of it are that with the chemical phthalocyanine and gold particles, tests show that they attach to cancer cells and when hit with a laser produces a highly reactive form of oxygen which in turn causes the cancer cells to go into suicide mode, the treatment is pretty similar to one trial drug treatment we are using for a certain eye disease in the use of photodynamic therapy, results are good but the newer drugs are better and this is within 2yrs, so hopefully the team developing this cancer treatment can get to human trial quickly ( time scale at present afaik is 3-5yrs ) as I have personal reasons for backing this as it not only affects people I know but people I love dearly.

Sadly I'm not part of that research as its way beyond me and my area of expertise.

    Hey G.T,

What I meant is, the good people, I consider you a good guy, although it is hard to pick someone as good/bad from the Internet, you can sort of relate or attach yourself to their personality, through the way they post, their mannerism, and sense of morale...

And in my eyes, its mostly people that I consider a good person, that ends up struck with something, like an illness like cancer, it's never the major asshole you know and despise, that rips people off, uses and abuses people for example, that deserves some karma!

I am not saying I wish cancer upon the assholes of this planet, I am saying however that those people that are usually cruel, nasty & sly, somehow go through life without any hiccups, yet the good people who deserve a break, are the ones that end up getting struck down, when they really DO NOT deserve it!

Anyway, enough of that, you have my up most respect for what it is worth, I am surprised daily by people and there enthusiasm, will power and determination, you have all that is mentioned and deserve recognition and respect for that, people without any problems at all do not have that sort of determination, will power! Kind of makes me wonder why even I complain sometimes, I have it too damn easy! I will think of you guys before I start complaining about anything from now on!

Glad to see your're still around, GT. Miracles can happen. You can be cured.:)

My Friday was stressful. I had a job interview. I've been out of work for almost 5 years because I had cancer. This was my first interview in 5 years and I was super nervous. I think I might get the job. I'll be working with computers; selling them, fixing them, helping people with their computer problems. I hope I get it. It would be fun.

    Now I can have a stress-free weekend.

Glad you still manage to remain positive, Gary and Darlene. I was lucky with my bout of the big 'C', but lately health issues have started to catch up in other areas. Such is life, at time, I guess.

Good and bad circumstances, and a lot in between happen to both good and bad people, it' how we deal with it that makes the difference. Take care, all.:)

There is a theory that this is just one plain that we go through, and those who have it easy here, have had it hard before. Same goes for good and bad people. I know at times in my life I have felt like Luthius, but as time passed by I have seen those same people that seemed to get away with anything and everything pay the price. No matter which country you visit or live in most people want and strive to live a good life, so for me it means that kindness and good morales are a universal trait of humankind.

So folks just keep your faith, and live life to its fullest. G.T. is a shining example of just that, and I for one am glad to have meet him and the many others like him here at MG

Yes, they advertise nationwide, including here, but none of them are near enough to me for ongoing care. I'm still holding down a (mostly) full time job. I do have an excellent oncologist, part of a good cancer specialist group, involved in the latest clinical trials etc. And I'm good at doing my own research.

They're doing good things with prostate cancer these days, but unfortunately not once it's spread as far as mine. I was MUCH too late getting diagnosed. We're doing all we can, but there's no miracle cure out there for where I'm at. Which doesn't rule out a real miracle. They do happen from time to time. :)
