Friends list for the forums

Hey, I've got two friends already! Wow, I thought I was on most peoples "hate list".

Been here since 2002 and I'm still clueless about both the "buddy list" and the new friends list. What exactly do they do, and how do you add a "friend", or is that a sub-function of the buddy list?

 

Ditto. I don't know how to use it.

Although, I do have several friends on board. I bet they are waiting to hear from me.

It's the buddy list. Two columns, one shows the people you have added to your list and the second shows who's list you've been added to. If you have someone on your buddy list and then they also have you on their buddy list their avatar even shows up on your friends page.

You could always become the new "Tom", MA, and enforce yourself on everyone's Friends list when they sign up

Wow that was a shocker!!!! I have friends...I think?? There is three names in my "Linked to" list...so I'm guessing that means they have added me as a friend??

I'm embarrased to admit that I don't recognize a couple of them. But hey...I'm an easy guy to get along with, I'll be friends with anybody...as long as they are nice!!!!

Aparrently, if you are on their buddy list and they are on yours, you're friends.

I never even looked at my "buddy list" until this thread started. LOL. I've got a fair number of buddies I didn't realize were there.

 

Never bothered with the Buddy list before, either. No-one listed anyhow, boo hoo.
Say I want to add G.T, Goldy, Halo and the big "A", how do I do it? What if they don't want to be added?
What use / purpose is the friends list anyhow? I'm confused. Bazza

Not sure if this is what you are wanting....

 

To add friends to your buddy list...

Click on <User CP> on top bar.
Click on <Buddy List> under the Miscellaneous heading on the left hand side.
Add nicknames to your buddy list as required.
Re-check the Quick Links Friends link, which should now show the buddies you added, and those which are mutual.

The Point? If your buddies are online they will appear with a + by their name, indicating they are your friend. It makes it easier to see if your freinds are online

It was so nice to come online after work today and find 4 people had added me. You know who you are and thank you very much. Had a rough week and is wonderful to know I have friends on here.

 

I have no friends. This is normal, but there are 4 names that I am "linked" to. They have little + signs before the name and they appear in the box on the right. What does that mean?

 

Linked as "buddies" or not, you definitely have friends here.

 

Those are the people that have added you to THEIR "Buddy List".

 

I'm touched. I never knew. They must think me as stupid as a photocopier.

There's 5 now. Someone took pity on me.

Hey!!! Photocopiers are pretty clever nowadays They can sort, staple, copy double sided.......not stupid at all. Awesome actually
