from dos to windows

Hi all. I need good advice on programming in C++ for windows, as opposed to the ms-dos box that newbies use (i'm just now BARELY getting to where i can say i'm not a newbie..heh heh). I have a pretty good reference on the handles to use...but it all seems so confusing, eg: i can't even get something to print out on the new window that's created, i don't know where to insert " int main() {} ", ...or even if it SHOULD be inserted as opposed to making a new file for main...arrtggggghghghafilhb;aoibnrobnrn. HELP PLEASE. oh, and don't even get me started on menu trouble. ::death grin::
