How fast are my disks really? Disk Bench tests your hard drive speed in a real life situation not in a benchmarking environment. All it does is copies a file from A to B, times the time it took, and deletes the file from B again.
The program is using the current filesystem to save a file. If it is fragmented, the performance will be degraded, as it is in real life.
So, to figure out how fast your computer is, you can copy a file from A to B and use a stop watch.

There are RGB and BGR types of screens, this depends on the color order inside the pixel. ClearType algorithms are absolutely different for each type of displays. Text rendered for RGB monitor looks absolutely ugly on BGR display and vice versa, that's why many people hate ClearType. There are also different Clear Type algorithms for portrait orientation of the screen.

As you can see, the ClearType settings should be individually tuned for every LCD display. And remember that ClearType is useless for CRT monitors.

...One thought is that Windows 8 will be only x64 and x128 (yes, you heard me), positioning Windows 7 as the last 32-bit OS. As crazy as that sounds, everything moves forward eventually. It wouldn't surprise me if the next flavor of Windows is 64-bit only. If it offers a 128-bit flavor, that would ensure Windows 9 will fully support 128. But this doesn't seem to be the big "risk" that Ballmer hinted at...

My note: It is a pity that MS don't split this ISO into 2 versions (and 2 DVD's).

The English versioned ISO would probably be enough for, at least, 50% of users and smaller businesses, and easier to install, IMO.

More than 30,000 media consumers were interviewed for the study, which showed that, on average, Americans spend about 13 hours a week on the internet and the pass the same amount of time watching television offline.

Over the past five years, the amount of time Americans watch television has stayed flat, while the amount of time they spend on the web has more than doubled.
