When was the last time you defragged your hard drive?
Go to Start-->All Programs--->Accesories--->System Tools--->Disk Defragmenter <enter>

Tip # 56 Add Comments to your files, etc., in XP.
Unfortunately it doesn't work in Vista. One reason why I don't use Vista as often as I would like.

Right click the file to which you want to add comments.
Then click on Properties--->Summary Tab--->Comments.
Enter in your Comments-->Apply---->OK
Or leave out the "Apply" and just click "OK"
See thumbnail for some of my examples.
It works with most file extensions, like exe, zip, jpg, but not all.

PS: The top 2 downloads have not had their appropriate Comments added yet. Just to demonstrate the usefulness of "Comments", IMO.

Oooops. Forgot to mention that you have to setup your Headings page for "Comments" to appear in "Downloads" Folder in my example.

Right click in the Headings line on any Heading, like "Name" or "Type", etc.
A dropdown list of heading possibilities will appear. Click on "Comments", to turn them on, in this case. See thumbnail. You can arrange layout of Headings from left to right in your preferred sequence by dragging them left or right to where you want them.
