    Hi,
I need to install some usb 3.0 ports in my pc as currently transferring photos seems forever.

There isn’t a floppy in this pc so I’m thinking of using this space along with this item here.

I have a spare SATA cable in the case so will the item be suitable for me.
I see a SATA connection on this item but not sure about the blue lead ?

Please any advice would be great thanks.

Not sure you'd need SATA, except for power: "2. Built-in power supply module, equipped with SATA power supply interface."

The supplied blue (in the pictures, at least) cable has the PCiE connector attached, this would probably handle the data.

    Hi
Just looking at this blue lead with its connection & it looks like it fits in the motherboard where the rear mounted usb card would be installed.

This means the sata lead does need to be used and power isn’t supplied for a rear mounted one as it just plugs straight in.

    would that be correct.

Well, the description begins: PCI-E to 4xUSB3.0 and the end of the blue cable does look like it's a PCiE x1, actually, one of the photo's has a blowup where the PCB on the 'loose' end of the blue cable says PCiE. That will be the data link.

This is fully internal, so there's no external/rear USB connection involved. SATA power from the PSU is needed.

I was Referring to the cards that fit into the rear of the pc then connect to the motherboard at the same location as this blue lead will.

So the blue lead is the data and by connecting the sata lead to it will supply its power.

    PCi-E x1 slot.

    PCI-E to 4xUSB3.0.
