froze on zipping hijackthis.log

When I ran MGtools it seems to have frozen at the point where it says zipping hijackthis.log. It has been sitting there for about a half hour.

Well I strated trying to fix my PC problems at 8am yesterday and finished at 1am this morning. Unfortunately I ended up having to do a complete format and reinstall my OS. The good news is that it seems to have fixed my problems.

 

Sometimes that's the best thing to do. Glad you got is up and running again.

The main thing that ticks me off is the fact that I have McAfee and Spysweeper running on my PC (Both paid versions) I do not visit "shady" sites and I scan with both programs EVERY DAY! I don't get the point of paying for these programs if they do not protect my PC. I had 3 Trojan viruses and 30 malware infections. Also Spysweeper kept detecting an IP that was trying to access my PC. I am now affraid to go to ANY site because this was such a nightmare.

 

It could have come from a link or attachment in an email or from Facebook, Myspace etc.

 

I thought the same thing so I am no longer using Facebook or Myspace. I did notice that it started happening after I was on Facebook for an excessive amount of time on Dec. 11th.
