Can someone please help me...My hard drive is so infested with spyware that I dont even have enough cpu to install Adaware. I cant get any icon to open and the cpu usage remains at 100%. What can I do to resolve this ???????

It will be rather difficult to help you if you cannot download and run anything on the PC. Can you download on another PC and burn to a CD and then copy to this PC?

What process is using all the CPU time?
Have you tried killing unnecessary tasks with Task Manager?
You also did not even supply an OS?

I tried to kill the system Idle process, which is using all of the cpu(100%). I wasnt allowed to do this. I am using XP. I am not even able to shut the task manager down once I open it.

I tried loading a disk that I have Adaware on but was unsuccesfull.

System Idle Process is not a process and thus cannot be killed. It is just a measure of how much free time your PC has. In other words, your PC is not spending very much time doing anything else. This is normal.

You need to explain in more detail what exactly is happening. What does "unsuccessfull" mean?
Can you copy install file from the disk (I assume you mean CD)? Or does even copying it from the CD fail?
Can you run the install program or does it fail?
If it does install, does Ad-Aware itself run or is that what is failing?

I am able to do absolutely nothing once the operating system begins other than open the task manager. I can navigate through the task manger but can't close it. That is all that I have been able to discern. I tried installing Adaware using the CD drive but it did nothing. I am not able to open the start menu. Is there some way that I can go in safe mode and install adaware or do I need to reformat the hard drive.

Yes software can be installed in safe mode.

Can you boot in safe mode?
