Frustrations with browsers

I would be interested to know exactly why different browsers can display the same page differently. I refer you to one of my MySpace pages http://myspace.com/2875jim (perhaps not to everybody's taste but please look at it objectively).
The page shows to my total satisfaction in IE7 and The World browsers.
In Mozilla Firefox and also in Safari for Windows, the links displayed (at the top right of the page) neatly one per line in IE7 and The World are displayed haphazardly. In Opera and Netscape Navigator, in addition to the haphazard links display referred to, the page content becomes mysteriously widened so that horizontal scrolling is necessary.
Can anybody recommend an IE-based browser (like The World) which will be more reliable than IE7 but display MySpace pages exactly as they were created.
THANK YOU FOR READING AND FOR ANY ADVICE OFFERED.

Some pages are (unfortunately) optimized only for IE because that's the worlds' most popular rolleyes browser. They may not display properly in other browsers. From what I understand (and I could be wrong), browsers like Opera and FF actually follow web standards, but IE does not. Ironically, it's the former who still lose out.

Then again, there are annoyances like java and flash which don't work properly on many webpages with different browsers.

I use Opera, and it serves 99% of my needs well.

Jimobasa, I just checked the myspace page from both my IE and FF are you talking about the links that say "click here"? There may be a way to correct these views in your own browser but if it's a custom fix on your end, it will only be on yours. The way you see a page on your computer may not be the way it's seen on mine because I have the option to adjust how my page is viewed. Even if you get the links to line up perfectly again, once they hit my computer or someone elses there is no way to guarantee I'm going to leave it as you posted it, especially since I have the option as does everyone else to alter the way we view our pages.
