FTP Problems?

    Well... not sure if this is the right place to post this... but here goes...

    My friend hosts an FTP server for me, which runs fine. However, when my FTP client sends the LIST command, it hangs. This happens no matter what client i use to connect, or which computer i use. All ports that are needed are opened (PASV range and regular FTP port 21). The interesting part is that the ftp server gets the LIST command... Any help?
