    Our family cat used to do that with a wool blanket"RIP",we always wondered what she was doing,she'd also bite the blanket,it wasnt until I saw some kittens feeding and looked it up I realised they are kneeding the milk glands to promote milk production they carry on doing it throughout life as a form of comfort :)
