Full Screen Not Wanted

I recently purchased a new laptop w/Win 10. One of my programs opened in minimized form as I wanted. Now it only opens in full screen. I had made some adjustments in settings - this could be the issue. Any suggestions?

Yeah, in text size, etc. the full screen will not respond to the Minimize button.

 

All I can suggest is carefully check all the settings.

Solitaire XP which I downloaded from online site

 

You need to say what those adjustments were.

 

They were various in my attempt to change the size of most text. I've gone back and made a few more adjustments but nothing has changed for this program.

 

You might just have to settle for resizing the screen each time you use it.

I don't think it is exactly the same. I downloaded it by itself from a separate site and when I click on Help, About it shows win 10.

 

I'm going to cut to the chase...
Would you like to have the original Solitaire that came with Windows XP?

Extract the archive to the Desktop (you can move it later).
In the folder are 2 files (keep them together), double-click sol.

 

I appreciate all this trouble you wen to for me. However, when I went through all the steps and opened the program............................it opened full screen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Give it up - I'm getting used to playing on the full screen.

It has to be something in Windows 10.

 

It opens for me in a normal window in Win 10.

Dunno. Try restoring down or minimising, and then closing it. Then see how it is on opening again.

 

Happens with programs sometimes in Windows that the program will become sized to the size of the desktop so that unfullscreening doesn't change the appearance. As Earthling is suggesting, place the cursor at the very tip top of the screen until you see the up down arrow and then grab the edge and drag it down. Maybe this is the problem.

Think it usually starts with Aero Snap which automatically fullscreens a window that is dragged to the top of the screen. If you then close the program while it's still at that size, it will remember and open that way again the next time you open the program...
