Funny Problem With Icons

I have this folder on my desktop called Shortcuts where I store all my shortcuts so they don't clutter up my desktop. I recently put a shortcut for FileZilla in there. Now the colours of the FileZilla logo are red and white. And yet, when I put the shortcut in the folder, and could see it sticking out of the folder, it was black and white. The next day, it had changed to red and white. Now it's black and white again. Inside the folder, it looks fine. The normal red and white. It's just when looking at the folder from the outside, the icon as it's sticking out keeps changing colour.

And another weird issue, I recently right-clicked on a file to open it with Chrome, but when the list of available programs came up, the Chrome logo was missing from its square. Normally on the list of programs, Chrome has a black square beside it with the Chrome logo inside. But this time, it was just the black square. I right-clicked on the same file again a few minutes later, and the logo was back.

What's causing these weird problems with these icons?
