I have a google voice number. When anyone calls that number and leaves a voicemail, I have it set up to transcribe the VM and send it to me via text. Usually they are pretty accurate but as of late they've been way of the mark.

    Examples:

I mean, I guess should feel special, I did get a VM from the phone blasted President.. but how am I supposed to reply to this? What if I don't want them to retard my top box or want my peels to group?! and how do they know I'm lying?! roflmao

In all seriousness, I guess that whoever was leaving the message wasn't speaking clearly and google voice had to guess to fill in the blanks. I literally LoL'd when I read these, guess they are good for something. :-D

So what's your number so I can call you? :)

I do think in seriousness that voice to text or text to voice messaging is hit and miss, my service is hit and miss and I think sometimes HUH WHAT THE HELL did some friend say!

In the main they are ok, just not perfect yet as I guess the network is not quick and accurate enough to transcribe the data quick enough, if you have poor signal areas the data will be not as good.

LMAO at your quoted text though as that's just perfect to a miss hit.

    dyamond,

It may be landline to GV only. Please DO post your GV number and it can be tested.

    :-D

I as well find the obfuscation of the GV system funny. Back when we had Goog-411 and it was trying to outdo BING-411 (did this die also?), neither could translate any address in Arcata, CA. Google never fixed it when they yanked the 411 plug. rolleyes

I'll only give my number if you have a cool accent.. :p I'm a sucker for accents LOL

I think GV has a hard time transcribing if the person has a heavy accent or talks really fast. My one friend talks fast and she left me a VM asking me if I wanted to go shopping and it transcribed it asking me if I wanted to watch football.:-D

I noticed the slower people speak the more accurate it is. It's still a good feature (IMO) because I hate listening to VM, the only reason why I do is to get the stupid icon off my screen. :-D

I have a really weird accent Dutch/English your google will probably transcribe it as gibberish:-D but it is very soft on the ear.

I'll admit I'm really tempted to post my GV number just to see who actually calls. GV does have this nifty block feature if I get too many weirdos... :-D

I'll let this common sense of mine to get the better of me and not post it publicly. However, if you message me (and I like you :p), maybe I'll give it to you to test :-D

Vonage is just as bad. I get transcribed voice mail from "CBS farm a see" telling me my prescription is ready for pickup. :-D

Joking aside I would never want you or anyone to post their number, even if its a VOIP number, not worth the hassle, if you wish to give it via email or PMs to folk you trust on the internet, then great as its good to talk.

Not as yet dabbled with GV, I may do at some point, but lately I have been using MS Lync as its a Skype like thing but slightly better for business.
