how do you get rid of funwebproducts? i can't find that folder (or that of mywebsearch or searchassistant) anywhere on my computer, and every time i run spybot s&d, it always comes up saying i have 4 entries of funwebproducts that will be fixed upon rebooting...but then upon rebooting, it doesnt get fixed.
any help you can offer would be much appreciated!
    thanks,

    • Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT
    • Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the ZIP file.
    • Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.
    • Run HijackThis and save your log file.
    • Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next post. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).

    Your HJT log is clean!

I think I know what your talking about, as I have this many times.

Its most likely the registry keys, so when Spybot scans and finished, copy the key names and post them here. It should be but about 4 or 5 so post them back here. Get the EXACT key so we can remove them.

ok here are the 4 entries, all of which come under the heading of 'Settings':

    HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-18\Software\Fun Web Products
    HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-20\Software\Fun Web Products
    HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-19\Software\Fun Web Products
    HKEY_USERS\DEFAULT\Software\Fun Web Products

    thanks~

Copy the contents of the Quote Box below to Notepad. Then click File and then Save As. Change the Save as Type to All Files. Name the file fwpfix.reg and then click save. (make sure you save it somewhere you can find it. Saving it to your Desktop may make that easy.)

Double-click on the fwpfix.reg file on your desktop (or locate it with Windows Explorer and double click on it if not saved to the Desktop) and when it prompts to merge, click YES!

    After doing this, reboot!

Do another scan with Spybot and see if they come back now.

Thank you very much, I have had the same problem this week-end when I cleaned up a friends computer. I was as able to get rid of everything except FunWebProducts.

    nope, not with fwp, anyway!

i posted another message this morning, under software about an issue i'm having with my intel webcam...here was the message:
    ------------------
you guys have helped with two other problems, so i'm gonna try you again for the third...

within the last year, i updated my computer from winME to winXP. i have an intel webcam that still works on live conferencing, etc. (for ex., through msn messenger), but just to take pictures, the software i bought that worked for winME no longer works. what can i download in order to get this perfectly good camera to start taking pics again?

and also, when i go into device manager, there is question mark by an unsupported device and a USB device. i know i have a USB device installed, because my computer and printer work, but how do i get these question marks to go away? i tried updating the drivers, but it says that nothing on the computer could be found to update the driver. (it also says the intel camera is working properly!!)

any help would be much appreciated.
    thanks!

    -----------------------------

    any ideas?
