The Server the forum is on was changed, so may take a while for the DNS servers to propogate with the new IPs.

You can try flushing your own DNS cache to see if that helps but generally it takes 24hrs or so from them to re-list.

Start > Run > type CMD ( or open the command prompt box ) type ipconfig /flushdns > enter and try again, doesnt work all the time as it seems parts of the UK is still not able to see the URL so I'm using the IP address to view the forum.

when i first signed on this morning, i got the little message saying 'try ipconfig /flushdns'. it didnt tell me what to do with it, so i typed it into 'run' which said it couldnt find it. i tried to 'get into' MG from a variety of places, but no go. i eventually emailed tim. (sorry tim). when i tried again an hour later....lo, here we are. i was definately feeling 'cut off' for a while there. the message needs to be changed to a) something that makes sense to us tech challenged, or b) 'hold your horses...all will be well.' :) much aloha

Philipp the server guy has added a re-direct to the old forum location, while the DNS servers populate.

The strange thing is that in Opera anyway once you type in your user name and password it remembers it for this link, but when you come back it requests it again....................Strange Velllllly Strange

    What would IT be?

If you mean the message the forum is or was giving off if you dont see the fourm menus and you get this message

then to some its not clear unless you have flushed the DNS resolver cache before that you have to do this from a command prompt window by typing in at the run box CMD, also as I mentioned Philipp the server geek at MGs has now added a re-direct from the old server to this one in which you will most likely see the IP address of the forum opposed to the URL, this is a temporary measure as some including myself were not seeing the forum even with flushing the DNS cache.

Everyone should now see the forum ok, but if your having issues Delete your Temp Internet folder and Cookies as your cookie will be the old out of date one.

DNS servers can take upto 3 days to come right, normally they are 24hrs or sooner.

I have the same issue at work Darlene, not tried home yet.

    4) Click OK or hit Enter
    5) Scroll down to DNS Client and double click it

    Hi Laurie

You need a space between the g and the / ....... easy way is to copy and past this at the prompt ipconfig /flushdns

Leave the email links with me for a bit, I have an idea whats happening possibly.

Well do what I do and face the moon, spin around 4 times anti-clockwise ( important the anti-clockwise direction is ) face your PC and growl, Works a treat for me everytime I delve into the mysterious depths of the PC ;)

OR just threaten to throw it out of the nearest window :D

but glad is now working for you :)

The nearest window works for me, I'm not predudiced against ethnic minority windows, altho they have to be from 3rd floor upwards for maximum destruction... cannot have the PC coming back to haunt me now can I :D

Still hopeful. Despite dns flush and running CCleaner to empty temporary internet files, I can't get in through e-mails. Also, the problem BCGray mentioned with opera, that the pages don't remember my name and password happens sporadically. Also, I couldn't get to Runkey and Shownew today.

Is this going to go away by itself, or do I have to do something do something?
    further flushing?

    Hi Abri

You could try booting to sae mode and flushing the DNS cache also clear cookies and temps internet files at same time, dont know if it was a coincidence or not but doing that lastnight allowed me to see the forum ok with correct URL and not the IP, dunno on the email links but they are being looked into.
