Yeah there is a lot of Ignoramuses Geniuses that like to scare others.

An 802.11b card can be found for $10 - $20.

    An 802.11g Card $50-$60.

So if you currently Do Not need a G card you pay $15 for a B.

By the time you need G it probably will cost $20 - $30, and will be better than the current cards.

So in whole, you will end spending the same money and you will have two cards and a better G card.

thats not exactly accurate. B is an aging technolgy, most new products are G these days. G has higher speeds. G cards will work with B networks. If you are looking for PCMCIA cards, the price difference between B and G is minimal if you are looking at fair quality cards. it would definatley be woth spending the extra few bux for a G card
