Game-elements Recoil problem

i dont know if this is hardware or software problem so if its a hardware problem please move it.

i have a Gamepad made by game-elements its called recoil it has a retractable cord with 4-axis and 12 buttons and Hat with rumble. i got the driver for it off the cd its not the windows driver that comes with XP.

The Problem i am having is when i try and use or setup the rumble effect the game or the effect setup in windows crashes so i cant use the rumble effect at all. i want to know if its a problem with windows or the game pad it self. i use this game pad alot in Flight sim or flatout 2 but i miss having the force feedback from hitting something or pulling on the plane to hard.

This is the error i get when i click on the effect tab in Game controllers under control panel

Alright...lets see here. Rundll32.exe is the program that's crashing in the first error. I wouldn't expect that it is a problem with rundll32 (exe files are solid, usually intended as a "black box"), but rather the dll that is being passed to it. We might try checking the event logs to find out which DLL it is, and then we can replace/upgrade that file specifically. To do so, please do the following:

1. Right-click 'My Computer'
2. Select 'Manage'
3. Expand 'Event Viewer'

Here, we can see the Application, Security, and System logs. I would look for errors in the Application log. (But I could be wrong) Check for red x's or yellow exclamation marks around the time of one of these crashes. Hopefully, it will tell us what dll rundll32.exe is choking on.
