Games FPS Help!

When I had any of the Fusion Packs installed, with my 64mb NVIDIA GeForce2 MX400, I had 60 FPS. When i put a 128mb NVIDIA GeForce4 TI4800-SE in my pc, I ran CS wid Fusion assault pack and I still had 60 FPS!!!!! The same happened to my other games like Unreal 2, Raven Shield, UT2003..... (with the GF2 MX400, 20 FPS, with the GF4 Ti4800-SE, still 20 FPS)

How can this problem be fixed?

 

is fusion packs for skins or mods on CS game? Is this a 3rd party program?

 

OK OK.... The Fusion Pack is an addon pack for Counter-Strike. It replaces all the sprites, sounds, weapon skins, player skins and more. Basically, the old Counter-Strike stuff sux0r, but the Fusion Pack stuff r0x0r.

My system specs are
Pentium 4 1.9GHZ
512MB DDR RAM
128MB AGPx8 GeForce4 TI4800-SE

Do you need to know anything else about my pc? And how can this FPS problem be fixed? I shud be getting 130+ FPS

 

My operating system is Windows XP Professional Service Pack 1. I havent overclocked any part of my system and I don't have any tweak programs for my GF4 Ti4800-SE. I dunno my chipset on my mainboard. How can I check that?

My desktop resolution is 1152 x 864 and when I play games, I set my resolution to 1024 x 768

 

I set my refresh rate to 75hz now. It was 60hz

 

Yep....I changed VSnyc of and i had 100 FPS with Counter-Strike

For all games I play, I use the 1024x768 resolution

 

It never fixed anything for Direct X games!!

 

For OpenGL games like Counter-Strike, i get good FPS
For DirectX games like UT2003, I get 20 FPS (just like my GF2)

 

Oh BTW i still need to download that driver

 

I have downloaded the latest driver... And the FPS for UT2003 isnt 130+!

 

Im only 13 years old so dont make it too complicated

I have a good graphics card but it lags and low FPS!

umm, i have a simelar card to you (3D Blaster/ GeForce4 Ti 4200 64MB @500MHz ) ive always used the reference drivers and theyve always given me better performance than the creative ones...

It seems there might be a bottleneck in your system, how are you for hard drive space? You tried tweaking your cache settings? How many processes do you have running? Have you tweaked your services?

By the way, MT's XP optimisation guide is really good for that kinda thing, check it out he postsed it earlier on

 

First off the GF4 4800SE slower than the 4600 due to that fact its a 4400 with 8x agp. The clocking for memory/core is the same as a GF4 TI4400 as well is the ram same speed and brand. the only difference from a GF4 TI4400 is the 8X AGP which will only give you 1 fps more. This is why I read like a mad man on specs and performance

Now I have the PNY VERTO GF4 TI 4400, the more features on the slower the game will run . I run all my games at 10by7 or 11by8 and sometimes 12by10 and I run each game with the game and the card setup for best looking and this gives me as low as 40-60-75 FPS if Ilowe the card and the games to say middle of looks 1 step from bestlooking I can do 75-85 and lower to card defaults and game defaults I can do 90-125 for most FPS games thats SERIOUS SAM SE AND FE,NOLF 1&2,Need for speed hot purist 1 and 2 ram great as well.

Your m.b does not take agp 8x first off which like i said is a joke of its self much like 2x to 4x its only giving 1fps more if that,so this is not a big deal

The m.b takes older DDR 200/266 tht kinda at the start of DDR like Pc 1700 ram I think. I think now up to pc 400 today. A 1900MHz and 512 is still very good to run today just not the tops and the tops changes to better week by week

You have a bottleeck a (slow down problem) the videocard is being held back by the Cpu and ram true you have a 1.9 most game will run fine on 1500MHz and 512 ram 64mb videocard not the best but will run good enough to play and enjoy. My videocard is faster now them when i first got it 15 months ago I went from 1333MHz to xp2600@xp3200 MHz 2200MHz and went to faster ram now less bottle neck If you play games on a pc look to upgrade all of it every 15-20 or soon to keep up with the games today and next. as 13 year I would asked every B-day and Xmas for parts to put in your self this get you better parts cheaper and faster pc its not hard just read the docs that come with the part

What to do? tweak the pc
Todays offica videocard driver from NVIDIA makes the card way faster and look better Get the Nvidia driver not card name its at the offical site easy to do 18mb driver

Bios tweaking too
oc cpu maybe ram a little
Please first read up on the ideas first then try at will and slowly doing it
keep setting the games up about middle settings.
