When my young grandson comes too see me he likes playing games on my computer I just wondered that these games websites for the youngsters are they easy targets to infect the computer, when he leaves I run my McAfee but it never shows any problems but I have installed a anti Malware program which you informed me of and it showed over 50 infected files with Malware.

    Hi

Do you know are these flash based games (you play them right on the site), or does he download them? You are going to be a lot less likely to get infected with the flash based games. If he's downloading games, depending on where he's getting them, it is very easy to get an infected download. It really depends on the site itself as to the likelihood.

Now, as far as the fact that you did a scan and found infected files, which antimalware software did you run? If it found that many infected files, I would highly suggest you head over to our Malware Forum and run the READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide.

My other suggestion to you is if you haven't do so already, download Firefox Browser: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/upgrade.html, and then download and install the WOT add-on https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3456/ which is a pretty good gauge as to whether you should trust a site or not. Explain to your grandson that if the site has a red circle next to it, that he should not go on it.

Malwarebytes is a great tool. If it found that much, you should really go through the guide I gave you for a more complete malware removal.

One more thing I would highly suggest is setting up a restricted guest account for your grandson for when he is on your computer...along with setting up your account as access only with a password. That way he will be unable to download anything without you entering in a password to approve it. I can tell you that there is absolutely no way I would allow anyone to go onto my computer and download anything without my express permission.
