Geek It Til It MHz?

Glad to hear an answer to that one. I've spent since yesterday listening to my computers, just trying to hear something, anything. All I can hear is fans.http://forums.majorgeeks.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

 

I'm currently using an integrated sound card, and if you turn the volume up all the way, you can hear the various noises of the processor...it's kinda neat

 

I have all the Computers at work on it but that is only two.
The rest are XP imbedded boxes with no hard drive and minimal memory, FAH will not run on them.
I have some of my boxes at home running it but only the ones that make it worth while.

Probly where mine all went.
I finish them and don't get points or I shut it down just to have it start all over again.

Oddly enough it only happens on my home boxes, the ones at work seem to work well.

 

at this time I am keeping one eye on MG_Clanger and the other on justcauz,the latter is gaining,now I have eGod in my sights + slipped right past Nano_Cell

could you imagine the suprise when knowing I just finished a RIBO at 600 points then I wait a day just to see how my average point was doing I freak seeing I am 87 WU and 13,000+ knowing I only had 82 WU and 12,000 something,so I kinda freeze like in my brainworks to sort out this situation as my computers are only networked one at a time via the careful insertion of a well aimed ADSL cable into my nic card(s)

all I can say is "Thank You" whomever you be...

a note to justcauz: I'm not certain on the proper shutdown of the graphical version of FAH,but on the console version I hold down the ctrl key while keying in the c key which has my client to shutdown properly.

also I run linux only for Folding@Home - much better production rate overall -

Whoa! Yesterday was a huge day according to this site. We picked up over 54000 points yesterday alone. My daily production was way up to. Anyone else experience this?

 

That happens sometimes due to server issues on the far side. Often, you'll see a huge day for all teams at once. Strange.

On another front, I see many of you catching up to me, and a certain someone continuing to pull away from me. Just letting you all know that I'm not going quietly into the night. I am dropping a couple of new machines online in the next few days, and working on acquiring a few more after that.How many do I need to keep from dropping out of the top 5? Top 3? Some of you folks are charging hard, but I'm going to make it a slog for you. Cheers!

I will be trying to repair two older boxes for some friends this weekend and I will be installing and folding from there units for a while as payment for the repairs. we will see because they are very old and not the best of shape.

 

Will you be installing @ 70% usage instead of 100% once up and running the client?

I have not at this time ventured to install on others computers,but should I,I will run the client @ 70% with their permission, tho on my own computers I do and will run @ 100%

Perhasp if running an older type computer less then 450MHz the option to fold non time limited WU's would be a better choice?

also the thought occured to me since this is payment in return for services rendered the 100% usage seems due until you feel payment is recieved,then set client to 70% thereafter.

I plan on running 100% for about a month. I also informed her that if she so chose to not use it due to glitches *it seemes to have them on older Boxes* that she is not obligated to run it.
My hopes are that if it works and gives no problems that she will forget it is installed and lets it run. if not it is no big deal to me, I seem to be doing well enough as it is.

 

One box has multipal bad sectors on the hard drive so I told the gal she needed a new one.
The other was a dead battery on the motherboardbut haven't had time to finish it.

At the pace we are crawling we will be in the top 50 inside a month or so.

It seems you may be overlooking the total points of each team,plus each teams continued daily point average...

I look to see our team in the upper 90's hopefully before 2006!?!

Added another computer # 7, perhasp another soon.

Good thing winter on it's way here.

Hopefully by spring I will have the knowledge to go diskless and incorporate.

 

We should get top100 in a couple of months or so I say Wow 7 computers thats alot, im only running one right now but I am getting a customized one soon so ill have 2 running the folding program

My fastest was down for the weekend and I noticed a slow down in points.I did bring another lap top online, it is just a mule but it will help and I expect to have one more online in a week or so.

 

I have got the fever now!
avg. daily points is in the 400's
I believe I shall inquire at the library if I may borg some of their computers.
also knowing the director may help.
