Geeky in Vegas.

The Guy and I are on vacation in Vegas (Yay, VACATION!! :celebrate) and walking down the strip, just looking at things and getting a feel for things. Walking through a casino on our way back to the hotel I spot a rebooting video poker machine and immediately stop to stare at it.

It's just finishing up an fschk on /dev/hda1 and moving on to what looks like other self-check and repair commands, all the while spitting out line after line of fascinating boot messages. So I'm staring at this video poker machine, mesmerized, while The Guy is staring at me somewhere in between astonished and amused. Finally he grabs my arm and drags me away from the Linux-poker machine, while muttering, "of course it runs Linux, its easier to customize and harder to hack." And then, "you are such a geek."

Yes, I am. :cool

So I heard a transistor on the strip exploded and caught fire. Flames 90ft in the air. Were you there for that or had you left already?

 

that would be the largest "transistor" in the world then.

Probably, but If you know what someone means, and you take the time to point out that their wrong for the sake of feeling big about yourself, it just makes you a D---.

 

I am surprised it isn't running OS2 to be honest. I recently found out that a lot of ATM's run on OS2 because it is super stable and nigh on impossible to hack due to age and limited exposure.

 

Actually, I wasn't doing it to feel big. I'm already massive. LOL

I had a friend playing the piano, I asked him if he had any lessons learning how to play cuz he was pretty good. He said no, I play the piano by using math. I called him a nerd :-D
