Just heard on the radio that Gene Pitney died, today, aged 65, mid tour of the UK.

Famous for " 24 Hours to Tulsa" and "The Man who shot Liberty Vallance". (Valance?)

One of the best pop voices ever, from the 60's, he'll be sadly missed by my generation. Bazza

LOL. Me too I guess. I remember his songs well.

Just did Gracelend yesterday with Sgt. Tibbs, who was passing through this area. Lived here 6 years and never went. They have a LONG hall with all of his gold and platinum records lining both walls. Went down it saying "yep, I remember that, yep, I remember that, yep, ......" Like him or laugh at him, Elvis had a HUGE number of number one hits back in the day.

Yep, I think "Heartbreak Hotel" was one of the first 45's I ever bought. Young ones won't probably know what I am talking about. Bazza
