Just a quicky on cooling really, not a quick answer most likely but a quick question on general cooling.

Basically I have reached the end of the road of upgrades and I am happy with the system I have for now, I have no more money to throw at it either lol. I am having issues with cooling, nothing serious just my cpu's idle temp is a little higher than I would wish. Specs:

    CPU: AMD Phenom x4 9750 2.4GHz
GPU: ATI (Sappire) Radeon HD 4870 1024MB
    RAM: X2 1GB DDR2 1066MHz Kingston Hyper
    Mobo: ASUS M3A
PSU: Coolermaster Extreme Power Duo 650W

    Cooling:
    Case: Jeantech Nitro
    Fans:
    Front: X2 12CM
    Back: X1 12CM
    Side pannel: X2 8CM
    CPU: Akasa Revo AK-925
    GPU: Stock
    RAM: Stock Heatsinks
    PSU: Stock 12cm
    Extractor: Akasa

I was just wondering if I had enough/too much in the way of cooling/airflow, thinking about it after installing my new CPU heatsink & fan. It just seems a little turbulant in there.

I can't really describe the problem I should really get some pics up to help with that, all i'm thinking is ideally cool air needs to come in the front, cool all the componants then get sucked out of the rear fan right?

Maybe you guys could get some pics up of your cooling, i'll get mine up tomorrow.

    Hi

What is the CPU idle temp?

Yes the front fans should be drawing air in and the back fans expelling it out of the back, if you have fans front and back going in opposite directions you can end up with dead air space and this can heat up ie, front fan expelling air out front and rear fans doing same out back, also the other way around with both pulling air inside, need a flow of air.

Also make sure all or as many of your cables are tidy and not blocking any airflow, good cable managment is also crucial, indeed some piccies will help as pictures speak louder than words at times,

Big post I know, I hope this helps. FYI they are all pointing in the right directions, since I got my new Akasa Revo CPU heatsink & fan the CPU temp has dropped to 29-39C. Any tips to improve my case setup, btw there is about 1cm between my PSU and the CPU heatsink is that ok?

    Hi

No think you have it all sorted as 39C at a max temp is fine, latest CPUs for many are idling at 40-50c so sub 50c I wouldnt worry at all.

CPU HSF personally if it would have fit I wouldnt have liked it pointing towards the PSU fan but the rear case fan so that front fans would draw air in straight throught he HSF and out back, but as your temps are low I wouldnt change a thing.

I plan to get the Antec Ninehundred case at some point, the puts your PSU at the bottom of the case pointing the PSU fan up, that would mean I could rotate my HS&F towards the 200MM top case fan for even better cooling =D

It's probably the best air case, this is it: http://www.antec.com/usa/productDetails.php?lan=us&id=15900#

And a cool 3D tour of the case: http://app.tentoe.com/__FileManager__/Org_100_41/761/900_demo.html

I think all I wanna do now is get a few cable ties and clean up the wires a bit.

    Thanks for your input :)
