AVG has 'caught and healed' this a couple of times over the last week. Is it really Malware and if so are there any special procedures needed to make sure it is completely removed? I keep AVG updated daily, Zonealarm on as well as router firewall, regular CCleans, Ad-Aware and Spybot scans.
The first time AVG alerted me was during an Ad-Aware scan with Generic9.ZVO in ReadReg.exe the second time it found it somewhere in a system restore file whilst the computer had been idle for some time. Any help appreciated.

ReadReg.exe is probably part of a SoundBlaster setup. Do you have a SoundBlaster card? Also nothing in System Restore can be fixed by any scanner so it will always show up until System Restore has been toggle off and then back on. But if it is ReadReg.exe, it is probably part of your SoundBlaster software.

Thank you. Now that you have mentioned Sound Blaster I remember this seems to have started after I installed a VERY old game ( Dune II ) which needed to setup the sound card via a DOS like menu. ( a fit of nostalga I regret as it never worked properly anyway ). I have flushed the System Restore so hopefully all is well. Cheers.
