GenPack:Generic:Malware.SFM.422D9716, Trojan.Ageten.A (agentsvr.exe), fakemsn8beta

Hi, I came home from college this weekend and found out that the home computer is plagued with viruses and malware. I've spent the past day and a half trying to clean what I can using Symantec Antivirus, Ad-Aware Personal, Spybot, Housecall, Bitdefender and TrojanScan. I think I removed the fakemsn8beta using msnvirrem, but I just wanted to make sure it was gone. Also, bitdefender found the other two things I mentioned in the title. Both failed to be deleted. The agentsvr.exe thing is making this tenmonkey ad pop up on the computer. I am not sure how to get rid of it, I tried to delete it by going into mycomputer->C: etc but I wasn't able to. With your permission I'd like to post a HijackThis log, and see if you could help me clean this mess up. Thanks for your help.

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

• Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis:

When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)

• Bitdefender
• Panda Scan
• HijackThis

 

I have completed all of the procedures that you asked. The Ad-aware, Spybot, Windows Defender, and Malicious Software scans all came out clean. I also ran CWShredder and Kill2me. The Bitdefender found the same two things that I have listed in the title - however it was able to delete them this time. I ran two scans for the Panda - one from the mycomputer and one for the drives, but I was only able to attach one of them on this post (I am assuming that they must contain identical info because I even tried to name them differently). Each Panda scan found 1 infected file. Attached are the Bitdefender, Panda, and HJT logs. Thank you.

Scan with HIjackThis and fix this line:

That's it. Otherwise your log's are clan.
