    hello everyone,

I was wondering if there is a way for me to get a sort of notification from win2K when a file has been modified. I am on a network and I want to be able to know when someone has modified a .txt file. The best thing would be a pop-up or window with a message in it because im not always in front of the PC.

    many thx,

Not that im aware. The network overhead would be quite large, as even if you just open a text file, the OS makes changes to it regarding the time stamp.

You *can* get software that monitors who is accessing file, and when, but not sure i can think of anything that will send a message to the admin of the network.

so there is an app that will allow me to get info on who accessed the file(s)?
I will look for one then.
thx a lot for the reply,

    Vince
