Get Text Message When I Receive Email In Gmail Account?

    Is there a way to receive a text message every time email arrives in a particular gmail account?
    Could find nothing online about this.

    Thank you for the information. After I read your note, I found the same info online.
    However I could not get this to work with my Tracfone android phone. I tried placing number@mmst5.tracfone.com as a forwarding address in a Gmail account. Gmail said it sent an email with a verification code to my phone. But when I check both Messages & Gmail on my phone, there is nothing. I tried deleting the google account on my phone and recreating it - still nothing.

    Any thoughts about what I may be doing wrong?

    mms is not a text message; it is a multimedia message.
    Since I don't own a Tracfone, I can't see all the instructions.

    and perhaps you can see how to send a simple text message (sms) rather than a multimedia message.

    I think if you wish to send a simple text message to a Tracfone, you have to address it to the carrier your Tracfone uses.

    Try that instead of mmst5.tracfone and see if it works.

    I haven't used Android in a while but is there an option in the email client to alert you of new messages?
    I'll assume you put your phone number before the @, including area code & you are in the US.
    I had no problem with my Verizon phone getting the verification code.
    Might check tracphone's site and see if that info is correct.
