GET THE NEW HijackThis 1.99.1

    Everyone,

    Make sure you get the lastest update for HijackThis. Version 1.99.1 was just released.

    Get it here: HijackThis 1.99.1

    If you have McAfee Virusscan you may get a message about a W32/Generic.worm!p2p on this download. This detection is false. Her is some info from Merijn:

    how can i get around mcafee??? it will delete H.J.T. every time i download it
    i've really gotten used to hjt :rolleyes:

    its not giving me a choice, its just deleting the file everytime i try to unzip

    Okay! You may need to do a temporary disable of McAfee each time you want to use HijackThis. Then re-enable McAfee. You will need to do this each time you want to run HJT until McAfee releases a fix. Your other choice would be to get rid of McAfee and use Avast or AVG.

    Hi Turc!

    Yes, just the System Scan option probably needs to be disabled. That will allow you to extract the EXE and run it.

    thank you guys , i guess ill do that, perhaps mcafee is given me one too many headaches , firewall was a nightmare for a while too. thanks again

    OKAY! AN UPDATE! McAfee's latest definition's 4429 seems to have fixed this problem with falsely detecting the virus in HJT 1.99.1.

    McAfee user's should update now to avoid problems.
