I get this error message when ever windows loads up.

    googletalk.exe Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in the dynamic link library PSAPI.dll

I get the same error message for msnmsgr.exe , launchapplication.exe and even when i run process explorer

By the way My version of windows is XP Pro SP2

You should probably back the old one up first, just in case.

    I've downloaded the latest version

    Filename: psapi.dll

    Version: 5.1.2600.2180

i have renamed the old psapi.dll in my system32 folder to psapi.old. but when i copy the latest version to the system32 folder the version gets rolled back to 4.0.1371.1. I have tried performing it again but this time setting the property to read only but i get the same result. the file version is rolled back.

    Got It!!

Renamed outdated version of PSAPI.DLL in my system32 to PSAPI.OLD. Downloaded the latest version of PSAPI.DLL set properties to read only, copied over to system32. Check file version but it shows old version. reboot......... problem gone file version now shows the latest version.

    Thank You!!

THANKS!!! This worked fine for me. I screwed up uninstalling a related driver in my Lenovo T400 and started having issues with this .dll at startup. The fingerprint reader was not working, now it's OK.

Thanks a lot for the solution and .dll file. :cool
