I went to get the Lexus serviced yesterday and while i waited i took a tour of the showroom, i stopped at the new RAV4 so i got out of my wheels and climbed in, started playing with all the nick nack (airco, electric seats and so on) you know how it is, after a short while the sales guy strolls over and starts giving me the 1000 reasons why i need this vehicle.

After what seemed forever i just said "give me the bottom line" and i was surprised what you get for the price $******.

So to make this a shorter story i have ordered one.

It will be ready on the 28th of February and the real sickener is i go back in hospital on the 25th for more surgery (i hope it's the last) to be honest i would cancel it (the surgery not the truck :-D) but they have told me if all goes well i should be able to walk without crutches YIPPEE.

So my wife will get to drive it before me, I just hope she does not have an accident before i get it. (the last new car i bought for her she hit the garage door when it was just 6 days old).

It's this model with a light grey interior.

Best of luck to you on the surgery. And enjoy the new car, if you can get your wife out of it... :-D

Congrats on the new wheels and good luck on the surgery.

By the way, I was just in Belgium a couple of months ago and stayed in Brugge for 3 days.

I was there with my 3 sisters, returning my mother's ashes to her homeland. She and my father met there during WWII, he was in the army, landed on Omaha beach on D-Day, met my mother, went back after the war to get his war bride.

Belgium is a wonderful country and I've got about 20 cousins there, most of whom connected with us when we were there. Maybe we're related!

How strange i didn't see you :-D i live less than 2 miles from the city center.

I hope my countrymen were hospitable and you did not get too many headaches from our beer.

The beer is absolutely the best in the world!!

8.5 to 9%, now that's the real thing.

I also got a kick out of the built in sobriety tests. Because Belgium is somewhat challenged when it comes to horizontal space, I found almost all of the lavs to be either on a floor above or floor below, and the only way to get there would be a narrow, tight, spiral staircase! Can be a challenge after the second serving, forget it after 4!

    Great place!

Nice ride, Bill :) You can, right after you leave the hospital, let your wife be your chauffeur, then, you can be co-pilot until you recover! LOL! Works for me.. :-D Best of luck to you with your surgery, seriously.;)

Congrats on the getting the car BILLMCC66 And like they said you'll have to be the co pilot until you get all better. And were all praying that you get well with a speedy recovery.

Thank you to you all for the kind thoughts, Yes LS (long time no see) it's been a long job, I will never be running marathons but if i can get up on my own two feet i will be happy.

This time they are going to replace my other hip and my left knee joint, so here's hoping.

    Bill

Whats the full model designation of the one your geting as I wouldnt mind looking it up (if you dont mind)?

Hey when you get it you should do a small article on http://www.pedaltothemetal.com (blatant plug) on your first impressions, with pics? ;) as I think that would be interesting for readers of the site, that goes for anyone who is interested in cars, just holler if you wish to contribute to adding stories.

I wish you the Best of Luck, Bill ;) The knee & hip replacement has come a long way, it is amazing.. I talked to an Ortho Dr. just a few weeks ago, and he said they are now doing knuckes.. It is just amazing how far that stuff has come..... I'd bet you feel like a new man when they are done. :)

Very nice Bill, I've read a few reviews this morning and all are glowing and tbh wouldnt expect much less from Toyota as they make superb cars.

Did you get the Bluetooth and Premium Navigation option as that looks great, having a music HDD for your Mp3s also as I know thats what I looked for in my current car, Mp3 and BT connectivity, and while its running Windows mobile software its very good, just need to pair my new phone to it today as its a Win Mobile phone.

Rear View camera will be handy in not reversing over pedestrians, or welll maybe not hehehehe

Bill nice car and have fun with it.

I have got the GPS but not the Blue-tooth because i no longer possess a mobile phone,I had one but just got sick of it so i donated it to the rubbish, my wife still has one but i am now in a situation where if i ain't at home don't call.

The CD player i have opted for is the 6 slot changer.

As for pedestrians the VX is fitted with parking sensors but i don't know if it can see bodies :-D

Gotcha Bill, good move on parking sensors and you have no need to know if it sees bodies as they should get out of your way! ;)
